Kevin McNiff

Flight 007 was to be only the beginning of a year in which Kevin McNiff would teach, as well as travel, through the Far East.  An international studies program led to the teaching position waiting for him at Tai Chung University in Taiwan.  Kevin, one of seven children, was getting ready by learning Chinese.  Originally from Beverly, Massachusetts, McNiff graduated from the University of Alabama in 1977 with a degree in Asian Studies.  Staying in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama, area afterwards, he taught English at the university, and began graduate-level work.

His twin brother Michael was quoted in the Boston Globe as saying: "He was a great guy, funny and adventurous… he came home last week to say goodbye… and he got on the wrong plane."

In 1983, Kevin was only 28 years old.
